CHAMAN:Huge quantity of drugs of various varieties and other contraband items were burnt at Headquarters of Frontier Corps Chaman.
According to statement issued here on Sunday, different kind of drugs and other illicit items, which had been seized during the last five years, were set ablaze in a ceremony held at Headquarters Frontier Corps (FC), Chaman.
The drugs and other items set ablaze included heroin, opium, hashish, Indian pan, Indian medicines, betel nuts and other contraband items. Value of burnt items was reported to be one billion, 9 crore and 76 lacs rupees. On the occasion, Brigadier Wajid, Brigadier Haseeb, Commandant Col Rashid Siddique, authorities of Anti-Narcotics Force, Customs and district administration were also present.
