Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has forcefully condemned Israel’s interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla, labeling the detention of doctors and volunteers aboard the aid vessel a ‘blatant assault on humanity’ and demanding their immediate release.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X on Friday, the PPP chairman asserted that humanitarian aid should not be considered a danger. ‘Food and medicine are not a threat,’ he wrote, describing Israel’s action as an attack on fundamental human principles.

The apprehension of Pakistan’s Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, who was among those on the flotilla, was singled out by Mr. Bhutto Zardari as a ‘clear violation of international law’ and deemed entirely unacceptable.

The PPP leader issued a direct appeal for the liberation of all individuals taken into custody from the humanitarian mission. He also urged Israeli authorities to open corridors to allow essential aid to reach the people of Gaza without obstruction.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s long-standing position, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stressed the critical need for justice for the Palestinian people and reiterated the nation’s profound solidarity with their cause.
