A trickster looted five lakh rupees from a cattle trader on Wednesday after making him unconscious by feeding him a sedative near the toll plaza on the national highway within the limits of Moro police station.

According to police officials, the victim was identified as Nizamuddin son of Gullan Machhi, a resident of village Tapal Machhi, who had obtained this large sum by selling cattle. The accused fled after the incident.

Nizamuddin has been shifted to a hospital for medical aid while the authorities are further investigating the matter.

In another incident, armed assailants targeted passenger vehicles on the Mehran Highway near Korondi within the limits of Akri police station.

During the robbery, fifty thousand rupees in cash, a cheque, an identity card, and a mobile phone were snatched at gunpoint from Kashif Noonari, a trader associated with the Mehrabpur furniture market.
