Srinagar, August 13, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai has expressed concern over the inhuman treatment meted out to Dukhtran-e-Millat Chief Aasiya Andrabi and her two associates in Delhi’s notorious Tihar Jail. Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Aasiya Andrabi, Fehmeeda Sofi and Nahida Nasreen were placed in a solitary confinement and were being subjected to physical and psychological torture in the jail.
Illegally detained senior APHC leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a message from Delhi’s Tihar Jail felicitated the people of Pakistan on the eve of the country’s Independence Day and said that the people of Kashmir loved Pakistan more than their lives. Other Hurriyat leaders including Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Bilal Ahmed Siddiqui, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Zafar Akbar Butt, Muhammad Musaddiq Aadil, Abdul Samad Inqiliabi, Nisar Rathar, Masroor Abbas Ansari and Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in their separate statements prayed for safety of the country from all internal and external conspiracies. They said the ideological Pakistan has a leadership role in Muslim Ummah.
Meanwhile, curfew-like restrictions have been imposed across the occupied territory especially in Srinagar in the name of security ahead of August 15, the India’s Independence Day. Special restrictions are in place in and around Cricket Stadium in Srinagar where the main function would be held. Several arrests have been made in the name of preventive measures. The Joint Resistance Leadership has called for a complete shutdown in the territory on Wednesday to observe the India’s Independence Day as Black Day. The purpose of the observance of the day is to convey the message to the international community that New Delhi has usurped their inalienable right to self-determination by the dint of force.
Complete shutdown was observed in Chadoora, Langate and Tral areas of occupied Kashmir to mark the first martyrdom anniversary of liberation activist Muhammad Yasin Itoo and surge in Indian state terrorism. All shops and other business establishments were closed while public transport was off the road in these areas. In Tral town, strike was observed against the arrest of over a dozen people, including students, employees and traders in nocturnal raids.
Unidentified gunmen killed a youth identified as Gulzar Ahmad Butt in Bonpora Murran area of Pulwama district. In other incident a youth was injured during clashes with the Indian troops in Kakapora area of Pulwama.
