Intense Heatwave Across the Country, Increase in Temperature Recorded

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of persistent hot and dry weather across most areas in the next 24 hours. The plains are particularly affected, experiencing scorching heat.

On Wednesday morning, temperatures reached 33 degrees Celsius in Lahore, 30 degrees Celsius in Karachi, and 26 degrees Celsius in Islamabad. In Peshawar, it was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius, Quetta at 23 degrees Celsius, while Gilgit, Murree, and Muzaffarabad recorded 19 degrees Celsius, 20 degrees Celsius, and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir also forecasts similar dry conditions. Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramulla will also face intense heat. Particularly in Jammu, severe heat has reached 28 degrees Celsius, while in Leh, the temperature is 7 degrees Celsius.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak heat times, as these extreme temperatures can pose serious health risks.
