Pakistan has forcefully demanded an immediate, unconditional, and lasting ceasefire in Gaza at the United Nations Security Council.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, Pakistan’s permanent representative to the UN, restated the nation’s resolute backing for the Palestinian people’s pursuit of self-determination. Ahmed urged an end to the military actions in Gaza, according to a report on Friday.
He emphasized Pakistan”s alignment with the majority of the Security Council and UN members, reflecting global sentiment. The envoy declared Pakistan”s commitment to humanity, justice, and international law.
The Pakistani representative described the dire situation in Gaza, with inhabitants caught between constant shelling and a crippling blockade. He highlighted the humanitarian crisis, with starving children, overwhelmed hospitals, and families lacking essential supplies like food, medicine, and shelter.
