Iran Confirms Participation in Crucial US Negotiations Following Ceasefire

Iran today officially confirmed it will participate in negotiations with the United States in Islamabad later this week, following a temporary ceasefire between the two nations brokered by Pakistan.

The affirmation came during a lengthy, 45-minute telephonic conversation between Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

President Pezeshkian expressed his appreciation for the Pakistani leadership”s efforts in arranging the provisional truce.

During the warm and cordial discussion, Prime Minister Sharif conveyed his deep appreciation for the “wisdom and sagacity” of the Iranian leadership in agreeing to the ceasefire and for accepting Pakistan”s offer to host the diplomatic talks.

The Prime Minister also conveyed his respects to Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, and both leaders agreed to maintain close communication.

Mr. Sharif concluded by stating that Pakistan remains committed to working with its friends and partners to advance peace and stability, both in the region and beyond.
