A pivotal two-day Regional Transport Ministers’ International Conference commenced today at the Jinnah Convention Centre, bringing together top officials from over ten nations to deliberate on establishing robust trade corridors and enhancing regional connectivity.
The opening ceremony of the high-profile gathering is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, signifying the event”s national importance.
The conference has attracted transport ministers and senior dignitaries from key regional powers, including Saudi Arabia, Trkiye, Azerbaijan, and Iran. Other participating nations include Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.
Adding to the international significance of the summit, representatives from major financial and organizational bodies are also in attendance. These include envoys from the Asian Development Bank, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the International Road Transport Union, and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.
The agenda for the two-day assembly features a series of sessions and panel discussions. The talks will center on critical topics such as the development of modern transport infrastructure, the optimization of trade routes, and the promotion of sustainable development practices across the region.
