Islamabad Traffic Police Bridges Gap With Community Through “Rabita” Program

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has initiated “Rabita,” a community policing program designed to bolster collaboration between law enforcement and residents. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Captain (R) Hamza Humayun described community policing as the most effective and modern approach. He stated that “Rabita” will foster a stronger bond between the police and the public, emphasizing shared responsibility in maintaining order.

The CTO clarified that the program goes beyond mere meetings and awareness drives. It aims to integrate citizens into the practical operations of traffic management. Captain (R) Humayun highlighted the interdependence of law enforcement and the community in ensuring effective traffic control.

He envisioned Islamabad’s traffic system becoming a national benchmark through this collaborative effort. The CTO reiterated the department’s commitment to providing safe transportation and comprehensive traffic management. He appealed for public support, emphasizing that community involvement is crucial for the campaign’s success and the creation of a better traffic system.
