Karachi Chamber welcomes the establishment of PRAL office at LTU Karachi

The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) today welcomed the inauguration of the Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) office at the Large Taxpayers Office (LTU) in Karachi. This development is seen as a significant improvement for taxpayers, marking a major advancement in strengthening the national tax infrastructure.

The newly established PRAL office, inaugurated by Member Inland Revenue (Operations) Zubair Bilal, is the result of KCCI’s persistent efforts and the direct instructions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The initiative aims to provide immediate assistance to traders and industrialists, eliminating the need to contact Islamabad for resolving technical and operational tax issues.

During the inauguration, Vice Chairman of the Businessmen Group (BMG) Javed Balwani highlighted Karachi’s crucial role in Pakistan’s economy, significantly contributing to tax revenue and exports. The establishment of the PRAL office demonstrates the Prime Minister’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the business sector promptly and effectively.

KCCI’s Acting President, Muhammad Raza, expressed hope that the presence of PRAL officials in Karachi will alleviate many of the challenges faced by the business community. He emphasized that the new office will improve service delivery, provide substantial relief to taxpayers, and strengthen confidence in the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) digitized taxation system.
