Karachi East Zone Police Finalizes Muharram Security

According to DIG East Zone, Dr. Farrukh Ali, Karachi’s East Zone Police has finalized extensive security measures for Muharram-ul-Haram 1447 AH, focusing on District East, Malir, and Korangi.

A heavy police contingent will be deployed at 229 Imambargahs across the zone. This comprehensive plan, overseen by Dr. Ali, includes consultations with various religious groups and local government representatives.

The East Zone anticipates 389 Shia processions, 175 Sunni processions, and 3409 Majalis during Muharram-ul-Haram. Strict security protocols are in place for all these gatherings.

Over 1875 officers and personnel will maintain order. Bomb Disposal Squads will clear procession routes before they are sealed, and snipers will be positioned on rooftops of buildings. Unauthorized entry will be strictly prohibited.

Stringent security measures will be enforced for the main processions on the 8th, 9th, and 10th of Muharram-ul-Haram, including increased personnel deployment and enhanced command and control systems.

On Dr. Ali’s directives, targeted search operations are underway at key locations in all three districts. Suspicious individuals are being monitored at check posts established on entry and exit routes.

The East Zone Police appeals to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and encourages reporting any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or the emergency helpline 15.
