Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has launched a campaign against lease violations on Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) land. Responding to public complaints, Wahab stressed the urgent need to stop illegal constructions and encroachments on KMC properties. He issued these directives during a meeting with representatives of the Sindh Muslim Housing Society’s managing committee on June 21.
Wahab directed the land department to submit weekly progress reports on the enforcement procedures. The mayor highlighted the importance of protecting community resources and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Municipal Commissioner Syed Muhammad Afzal Zaidi, Financial Advisor Gulzar Ali, and Director Media Daniel Sial, among other senior officials, were present at the discussion. This action aims to curb illegal activities and safeguard KMC’s property.
