KARACHI:Assistant Commissioner (AC) Nazir Abro, accompanied by a police contingent, on Tuesday sealed the school in Gulshane Hadeed area of Karachi whose principal allegedly raped female teachers as well as students.
A court has handed over accused to police on physical remand. Also on Tuesday, the court of judicial magistrate in Malir granted to the police seven-day physical remand of Irfan Memon, the school principal, facing the allegation of raping female teachers.
State prosecutor made a revelation in the court that Irfan was not alone; instead he was member of a gang. The court ordered the police to submit progress report on the next hearing. During the hearing, the judge asked the investigation officer (IO) about Irfan.
The court then asked the IO whether main suspect’s statement had been recorded. The officer replied that further questioning was required in order to get to other suspects in the case and that forensic of the cellphone recovered from the suspect had not been done as yet. “So far, we have been able to trace 45 affected women,” he said, adding, “Irfan also used to blackmail his victims.”
Earlier, sections related to sexual harassment and blackmailing were inserted in the case registered against Irfan at Steel Town police station.
The suspect would call women on the pretext of giving them jobs. Then he would rape them and make videos of these acts to blackmail them.
