Khairpur police on Monday arrested five suspected drug dealers during targeted enforcement operations across the district and recovered a large quantity of charas, totaling 4,870 grams.
During ongoing operations against drug distribution, Gambat police took Muhammad Afzal Dayo into custody during a patrol near Wing Pakki Naka. A search of the suspect allegedly yielded 1,050 grams of the prohibited substance.
In the operation’s largest action, Akri police detained Ibrahim Pathan. Authorities reported that 2,000 grams of charas were recovered from his possession during a routine patrol.
Meanwhile, an enforcement team from the Economic Zone police station arrested Ghulam Akbar Chachar after recovering 600 grams of charas during an action near a local flour mill.
In a separate operation, Ranipur police arrested Waheed Ali Ansari near Watni Pul. He was allegedly carrying 650 grams of narcotics at the time of his arrest.
Additionally, B-Section police took Mansoor Phulpoto into custody near Sarki Morr and recovered another 570 grams of charas from his possession.
Authorities have confirmed that formal cases have been registered against all five individuals in connection with the recoveries.
