The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is facing severe financial difficulties due to the non-payment of billions of rupees in dues, stemming from the prolonged delay in the financial integration of the former FATA region.
In a key consultative meeting held on Thursday, chaired by Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, a comprehensive review of the province’s financial and constitutional rights was conducted to prepare for the upcoming meeting of the National Finance Commission (NFC).
During the meeting, participants were given a detailed briefing on the heavy outstanding dues and the administrative hurdles hindering the complete financial integration of the tribal districts.
Expressing firm resolve, Chief Minister Afridi reiterated the administration’s commitment to protecting the province’s interests on all available platforms.
The Chief Minister declared, “We will present our case on every forum for the effective defense of our legitimate rights.”
