Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy Advances Paralegal Training Efforts

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA) recently hosted a one-day training session aimed at enhancing the skills of paralegals, specifically petition writers, from various districts. The initiative is part of a broader effort to reform the justice sector and strengthen public trust in the region’s legal framework.

According to a statement by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy, the training involved participants from districts including Mansehra, Haripur, Abbottabad, Battagram, Kolai Palas, and Upper and Lower Kohistan. The program focused on ethical practices, legal knowledge enhancement, and improving professional skills to ensure effective service delivery within the justice system.

Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari, Director General of KPJA, inaugurated the session by welcoming the paralegals. The training included sessions led by Mr. Zia-ur-Rehman, Dean of Faculty, who covered the basics of paralegal business, and Mr. Wajid Ali, Director Instructions, who addressed substantive and procedural laws.

The final session, conducted by Ms. Faryal Zia Mufti, Director Instructions, concentrated on record maintenance, detailing the production and consignment of registers as evidence. The session also highlighted challenges and potential solutions in legal documentation.

The training concluded with Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari distributing certificates to the participants, marking a significant step in the ongoing efforts to elevate the standards of paralegal services in the region.
