(KP): (Qatar Charity’s delegation discusses flood rehabilitation support in Malakand Division)

Swat: A delegation of Qatar Charity headed by Nawaf Abdullah Hamadi met with Commissioner Malakand Division Shaukat Ali Yousafzai here on Wednesday.

The delegation included Amin Abdur Rahman, Country Director of Pakistan for Qatar Charity, Ahmed Abdullah and A Rehman Bakumal from Bahrain and Michelle Shakir Dawood from Kuwait, and others.

At the time of the meeting, Member Provincial Assembly Mian Sharafat Ali, and Additional Deputy Commissioner Swat Sohail Ahmed were also present. In the meeting, the Qatar Charity delegation discussed with Commissioner Malakand Division Shaukat Ali Yousafzai the various aspects of possible assistance from Qatar to the flood-affected districts of the Malakand Division.

The Commissioner of the Malakand Division thanked the Qatar Charity for sending the delegation to express solidarity with the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially the Malakand Division, in this hour of difficulty, and for the assurance of providing assistance and support for rehabilitation.

In the meeting with the delegation, Commissioner of Malakand Division said that there is a strong relationship between Qatar and Pakistani people, and in the time of difficulty, Qatari people have taken care of Pakistani people in general and the people of Malakand Division in particular.

While discussing various proposals, Commissioner Malakand Division said the flood situation in Malakand Division has damaged the tourism infrastructure which is fundamental for the economic development of this area. He said in the field of education, schools have also suffered damaged, and infrastructure related to agriculture has also suffered a blow.

The Commissioner Malakand Division said that a large number of houses and private property were also damaged due to which the families are also facing financial difficulties. He said by imposing an emergency in the affected districts, rescue and relief work was carried out on an emergency basis, due to which the affected families have received timely support, while the road and other infrastructures need restoration for the economic development of the Malakand division.

The Qatar Charity delegation assured Commissioner Malakand Division Shaukat Ali Yousafzai of providing support in relief activities and said that a technical team will visit Malakand districts for a detailed assessment.
