Kurd gets seven years jail term, Rs630m fine in corruption case

QUETTA: Aftab Ahmed Loan, Judge of Accountability Court, Quetta, has sentenced Ali Gul Kurd, former Managing Director, Pasni Fish Harbour to undergo rigorous imprisonment for seven years and to pay a fine of Rs63 crore after proving millions of rupees corruption case. Court also ordered to confiscate the commercial plazas and several acres of land of the accused.

According to reports, Ali Gul Kurd, former Managing Director, Pasni Fish Harbour, has been awarded seven years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs63 crore by Accountability Court, Quetta in a reference filed by NAB pertaining to embezzlement of millions of rupees. Court also ordered to confiscate the property, including commercial plazas located in the expensive areas of Quetta city and several acres of land in Quetta and Mastung. The accused was shifted to Jail.

It is pertinent to mention that the accused had joined government service as Section Officer (B-17) and during service served against different positions, including Director, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Director, Sports Balochistan, Managing Director, Pasni Fish Harbour. Of late, the accused Ali Gul Kurd had been directed to report to Services and General Administration Department for further posting.
