Lampy Skin Disease to be controlled soon: Livestock Minister tells seminar

KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Abdul Bari Khan Pitafi said Wednesday that we have started work on an emergency basis to eradicate Lumpy Skin Disease in Sindh’s animals, and assured that that the disease would be brought under control soon.

He expressed these views while addressing a seminar on Lampy Skin Disease, organized by the Sindh Livestock Department at a local hotel today. Pitafi said that our work was appreciated all over the country, including the hard work of our departmental officers, doctors and field staff.

He said that special thanks to our party leadership, especially President Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, Faryal Talpur and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah who encouraged them and approved a summary in two days and released funds from the Finance Department to tackle the disease.

Today, we are sure that the cattle owners of Sindh would soon be saved from this deadly epidemic, said the minister. The minister said that vaccines had been introduced in Sindh to control the incidence of diseases in animals and birds for which the Chief Minister Sindh had provided substantial assistance.

Pitafi said: “Those doing PhD from abroad are not ready to work with us, so our institutions should create PhDs so that local peoples can work with us in difficult times.”
