Larkana transporters protest against injustices

LARKANA:The members of Chandka Bus and Van Owners Association held a protest demonstration at New Bus Stand Road Saturday against injustices.

Speaking on the occasion, the participants Bahadur Khan Jalbani, Akbar Jatoi, Ghulam Mustafa Chandio and others said that the Sindh government was plying vehicles on various routes of Larkana after calling buses and vans from Punjab due to which the local trade had badly been affected.

They said over 500 families were suffering due to unlawful acts of the provincial rulers. They said about 10 buses were plying on the Larkana-Ratodero route apart from other routes of Kambar-Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Jacobabad and Kashmore-Kandhkot which are also taking local passengers.

They claimed that they were facing millions of rupees losses monthly due to Peoples Bus Service and many transporters were even unable to earn daily expenditure upto the mark. They said that if such injustices continued, then transporters would become penniless.

They urged the Chief Minister and transport minister to save their business and the lives of those ‘who are earning their livelihood by working in our transport vehicles’ or else, they warned, they will stage a sit-in on 27th December at Garhi Khuda Bux on the eve of 13th anniversary of Benazir Bhutto.
