Life of Youth Drowning in Keenjhar Lake Saved by Emergency Boat Service

Karachi’s 18-year-old youth, Shahwaiz, was timely rescued on Saturday from drowning at Keenjhar Lake by the emergency boat service of Sindh Integrated Emergency and Health Services 1122.

According to initial reports, Shahwaiz, a resident of Landhi area of Karachi, had come to Keenjhar Lake with his family for recreational purposes. While swimming, he went into deep water and started drowning.

Emergency personnel of 1122 Boat Ambulance Service, who were present at the scene, intervened promptly. They provided first aid to the youth on the spot and then transferred him to the established TC Center.

The emergency services’ decisive action received expressions of praise and joy from Shahwaiz’s family and local residents.

District Manager 1122, Dahani Bakhsh Palejo, while speaking to the media, confirmed that their team by taking prompt action successfully performed the duty of saving a life. He emphasized that humanitarian service is their top priority and they are continuously striving to save lives.

Station Coordinator Muhammad Ali Mir Jat provided further details about operational deployments, noting that public gatherings occur at the lake every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Consequently, during these times, an ambulance vehicle is routinely deployed along with the emergency ambulance boat service.

Furthermore, Mr. Mir Jat highlighted broader emergency provisions for road accidents, stating that ambulances and rapid response motorbikes are strategically deployed at Chilia Toll Plaza, Sonda Jherrak, Chhattochand, Makli Taj Bypass Gajo, and Gharo. He confirmed that their trained staff are always ready for any emergency situation.
