A major increase of Rs 7,700 was recorded in the per tola price of gold in the country, after which the new price of gold became Rs 436,562.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold also saw a significant increase of Rs 6,601, after which the price of 10 grams of gold became Rs 374,281.
This surge in the local market was in line with the trend in the global market, where the price of gold per ounce closed at $4,142 after an increase of $77.
An increase was also seen in the prices of other precious metals, and the price of silver per tola became Rs 5,422 after an increase of Rs 152.
