Customs authorities in Balochistan on Sunday claimed to have confiscated a substantial quantity of smuggled goods, including foreign-origin betel nuts and cloth, with an estimated worth of Rs251.32 million in a major intelligence-led operation.
The successful raid was carried out by the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Quetta, on the basis of credible intelligence. The mission’s execution was supported through effective coordination with other Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and the District Administration of Kalat.
The seized contraband, which was being transported illegally in contravention of customs regulations, consists of foreign-sourced betel nuts and fabric. The total cost, insurance, and freight value of the recovered items has been officially assessed at Rs251.32 million.
Officials stated that the successful undertaking underscores a continued commitment to curbing illicit trade and safeguarding the national economy. Reinforcing this stance, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has reiterated its resolve to maintain stringent enforcement actions against smuggling and corrupt practices.
