Massive drive against water theft is in full swing in Sindh: Mushtaq Shah

Karachi, July 09, 2018 (PPI-OT): On the directives of the Provincial Caretaker Minister for Irrigation, Public Health Engineering and Rural Development, Inter Provincial Coordination and Excise and Taxation Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, a massive drive against water theft is in full swing across the province. In this regard Rangers, Police and Officers of Irrigation Department Sindh conducted a joint operation against illegal water connections and water theft in Benazirabad and registered a case against four accused.

Similarly a joint team also removed 59 illegal water lines in Sukkur, seven in Sanghar and 59 Khairpur as well and registered the cases against those who were found guilty of stealing water from water courses. In this regard the Caretaker minister For Irrigation, Public Health Engineering and Rural Development, Inter Provincial Coordination and Excise and Taxation Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, in a statement issued here on Monday, has warned the water thieves to avoid breaking water modules in either case a strict action will be taken against them. ‘No one will be allowed to steal water, no matter how much influential one may be’, he concluded.
