Media’s Crucial Support for Arts Recognised at Karachi Iftar Gala

Underscoring the vital role of the press in fostering cultural and artistic endeavours, the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi acknowledged the media”s consistent support during a special Iftar-dinner held in their honour at the Jaun Elia Lawn.

The event, an annual tradition for the institution, brought together a large number of professionals from electronic, print, and digital media to recognise their contributions, according to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi information today.

In his address, Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah emphasised the institution”s long-standing tradition of nurturing close and cordial relations with the journalism fraternity. He stated that the gathering was organised as a gesture of appreciation and gratitude for their unwavering collaboration.

Shah commended the journalist community for its instrumental role in promoting art and culture, noting that media professionals have consistently stood shoulder to shoulder with the Arts Council to highlight its diverse activities and contributions to the cultural landscape.

The Iftar was attended by a host of prominent personalities. President of the Arts Council Muhammad Ahmed Shah, along with the governing body members, personally welcomed the guests.

Notable figures in attendance included senior political leader Nisar Khuhro and Karachi Press Club President Fazil Jamili. They were joined by Arts Council Secretary Ejaz Farooqui and other distinguished personalities such as Huma Mir, Amjad Hussain Shah, Ghazi Salahuddin, Dr Ayub Sheikh, Mazhar Abbas, Muhammad Farooq, AH Alauddin Khanzada, and Raffat Saeed, among numerous other media representatives.
