Minister emphasizes on provision of quality Universal Postal Services

ISLAMABAD: The government on Friday issued a set of two commemorative postage stamps of Rs20-each denomination and a souvenir sheet of Rs75- on the eve of Diamond Jubilee, 75th anniversary of the Independence Day of Pakistan.

The unveiling ceremony of these commemorative stamps was held on Friday at Postal Staff College, Islamabad. Asad Mehmood, Federal Minister for Communications, was Chief Guest of the ceremony. Federal Secretary Ministry of Communications and Director General Pakistan Post along with other officers of Ministry of Communications and Pakistan Post Departments were also present.

The Director General Pakistan Post Office Department highlighted the services being offered by Pakistan Post along with achievements and future endeavors of the department. Federal Secretary of Communications stressed that Pakistan Post can catalyze the development of the nation, if equipped with modern day digital technology.

Federal Minister for Communications emphasized on provision of quality Universal Postal Services. He said the present government is focused on service provision. He also resolved that government is committed to digitize Pakistan Post for better provision of services.

It may be noted that Pakistan Post had previously issued commemorative postage stamps on Silver and Golden Jubilees in 1972 and 1997 respectively. The stamps have been printed by the National Security Printing Company. It will be available at all important post offices for sale from 14th August, 2022 onwards.
