Today, minor fluctuations were observed in the prices of several foreign currencies in Karachi’s open market, including the US dollar. This occurred when interbank rates were not disclosed, resulting in speculation by investors and currency traders about potential impacts.
A slight decrease was seen in the buying price of the US dollar, which fell from 278.86 Pakistani Rupees to 278.84 Pakistani Rupees, while its selling price saw a slight increase, rising from 279.68 Pakistani Rupees to 279.81 Pakistani Rupees. This delicate change indicates the unpredictability of currency value amid global economic dynamics.
Similarly, a decrease was observed in the buying price of the Euro, which fell from 319.91 Pakistani Rupees to 319.73 Pakistani Rupees, while its selling price also slightly declined to 322.71 Pakistani Rupees. The British Pound followed this trend, with its buying price decreasing from 376.63 Pakistani Rupees to 376.29 Pakistani Rupees, and the selling price dropping to 379.81 Pakistani Rupees.
On the other hand, a slight decrease was observed in the buying and selling prices of the Japanese Yen, stabilizing at 1.70 Pakistani Rupees and 1.77 Pakistani Rupees, respectively.
Contrary to these decreases, both the UAE Dirham and the Saudi Riyal saw slight increases. The buying price of the Dirham rose to 76.23 Pakistani Rupees, while its selling price reached 76.81 Pakistani Rupees. The buying price of the Riyal slightly increased to 74.59 Pakistani Rupees, while the selling price saw a slight rise to 75.09 Pakistani Rupees.
These minor changes reflect the delicate balance of the open market, which has been complicated by the absence of interbank rate updates, last recorded on July 17 at 277.96 Pakistani Rupees for buying and 278.16 Pakistani Rupees for selling. Traders remain vigilant amid these changes, anticipating further developments that could influence currency trends in the coming days.
