Sindh’s senior minister Sharjeel Inam Memon gave a strong reaction today in response to MQM Pakistan’s recent press conference, accusing the party of trying to maintain its political significance through baseless accusations and old narratives.
Memon claimed that MQM’s political strategy has always depended on sloganeering and crises, and this tactic is being repeated in the current era as well. According to Memon, MQM has historically tried to make the provincial autonomy and local government system controversial.
He described ongoing development projects in Karachi, such as the Yellow Line and Shahrah Bhutto projects, as concrete examples of the Sindh government’s commitment to practical work, which no propaganda can deny.
Memon emphasized the importance of resolving legal and administrative issues through judicial and institutional channels. He expressed regret that those who have long exacerbated Karachi’s problems with their selfish politics are now trying to present themselves as saviors.
The minister further clarified that the Sindh administration has provided financial resources and legal support to local institutions. He stressed that Karachi, which is the economic hub of Pakistan, is not the domain of any one political party. Criticism of development efforts, according to him, is an acknowledgment of the critics’ own political weakness.
