Murad assures support to improve ICT interventions in education sector

Lahore, September 26, 2018 (PPI-OT): All support will be extended to improve ICT interventions in the education sector of the Punjab province to bring revolutionary changes for the betterment of the quality of school education. Dr. Murad Raas Education Minister of the Punjab assured during his visit to the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) here today.

Dr. Umar Saif the founding Vice Chancellor of Information Technology University (ITU) the Punjab and Chairman PITB gave a detailed briefing on the introduced ICT interventions on School monitoring, students assessment, eLearning and real time attendance of the teachers and students. These systems have eliminated the chances of any fake admissions or ghost schools across the Punjab province, he added.

He informed that the books of science and mathematics for classes 6 to 12 have already been digitalized while 800 schools have so far been equipped with smart phones. Dr. Murad Raas commented that science subjects i.e. physics, chemistry should remain in English as for higher studies these subjects have vast material in English. The School Education Minister also visited the Citizen Complaint Center (CCC) along with the senior officers of the education department.
