Jammu: Over 200 individuals have been moved to quarantine centers in Rajouri, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, following the deaths of 17 people from a mysterious illness. This measure aims to prevent further spread of the illness.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, four people, including three sisters, have been hospitalized, with three being airlifted to a facility in Jammu. Health officials have linked all fatalities in Badhaal village to brain involvement and nervous system damage.
Local political figure Javaid Iqbal Choudhary of the National Conference has called for a medical emergency to contain the illness. The relocated individuals, who had contact with affected families, are now housed in a nursing college and GMC hospital in Rajouri.
The precautionary relocation aims to disrupt the transmission chain, authorities stated. Security has been tightened at the quarantine center in the nursing college to ensure safety and compliance with health protocols.
