The National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, said on Wednesday that it has launched a four-week National Outreach Programme for Faculty Development (Tier-I) at the University of Balochistan (UoB).
The programme, formally launched by Vice Chancellor UoB Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Bazai, aims to strengthen the teaching, research, and professional competencies of Lecturers and Assistant Professors through modern pedagogical approaches and contemporary academic practices. It aims at capacity building and professional development of Tier-I faculty of the university.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Bazai expressed gratitude to Managing Director NAHE Dr. Noor Amna Malik for facilitating the programme and described the initiative as an important step towards enhancing faculty capacity and academic excellence. He emphasised that investing in faculty development is an investment in the future of students and encouraged participants to apply the knowledge and innovative teaching practices gained during the training.
Earlier, Director University Training and Development Centre (UTDC) Mr. Jahangir Khan welcomed the participants and acknowledged the support of NAHE and HEC in organising the workshop. Assistant Directors NAHE Mr. Tahir Mehmood and Mr. Ahsan Younas also expressed their views, highlighting the importance of continuous faculty development to meet evolving educational needs. They underscored the significance of faculty development in strengthening the teaching and learning experience.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Ghulam Razaq Shahwani, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences Prof. Dr. Sobia Ramzan, and faculty members from various academic departments attended the inaugural ceremony.
