National Art Showcase Aims to Shatter the Silence Around Workplace Harassment

In a powerful display aimed at confronting the pervasive issue of professional misconduct, the Federal Ombudsperson Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH) hosted a national art exhibition on Monday, using creative expression to challenge the culture of silence surrounding abuse in workplaces across Pakistan.

The event, titled ‘Workplace Harassment – Breaking the Silence,’ featured over 250 submissions that vividly portrayed themes of survivor resilience and the urgent need for stronger institutional safeguards. The artworks were presented in three distinct categories: handmade posters, digital creations, and short videos.

A distinguished jury comprising Saba Zia, Noshaba Naz, and Sarah Rajper evaluated the diverse entries. The showcase brought together a wide array of artists, students, rights activists, and professionals united by a common cause.

Addressing the attendees, the Federal Ombudsperson highlighted the critical role of public engagement in shifting societal attitudes. ‘Creating awareness is the first step,’ she stated. ‘Through initiatives like this exhibition, we aim to break the silence – together.’

Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, serving as the chief guest, called for a multi-faceted approach involving collaborative action and improved legal frameworks to foster safe and dignified professional environments. He commended FOSPAH for its pioneering awareness campaigns and the robust support systems it provides for victims.

The gathering was attended by senior government officials, diplomats, members of civil society, media representatives, and emerging artists, signaling a shared commitment to advancing gender equality and upholding workplace dignity.

FOSPAH concluded the event by reaffirming its pledge to enhance nationwide awareness, improve accessibility to justice, and fortify the institutional mechanisms designed to eliminate workplace harassment throughout the country.
