The National Assembly was informed today that necessary steps are being taken to bring reforms in National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to effectively tackle cybercrimes.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry told the House during the Question Hour that best officers have been appointed in the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency. He said efforts are afoot to enhance the capacity of the investigation agency.

The Minister of State for Interior said the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency received over one hundred and fifty thousand complaints last year.

He said over eighty-one thousand of these complaints were related to financial crimes, and that 1095 accused persons were arrested. The minister of State for Interior said the cellular companies have been directed to enhance their security features for the issuance of SIMs.

Responding to a question, Talal Chaudhry said the air quality of Islamabad has improved as compared to a year ago. He said measures such as the emission certification of vehicles are among the steps taken to improve the environment.

Replying a question, the Minister of State for Interior expressed the government’s commitment to purge Islamabad of all kinds of encroachments. He said we will require support of all segments of society in this regard.

Responding to a calling attention notice, Talal Chaudhary said Vision 2027 will be announced this month for the development of federal capital territory. He said this two-year roadmap will transform the capital into a modern and smart city. He said a survey has also been launched to collect the data of residential and commercial places in the capital.

Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani told the House that PIA had been privatized in the most transparent manner as per the law and the constitution.

He clarified that only the core operations of the airline have been privatized while PIA-owned hotels are not part of the transaction. Expressing confidence in the move, Bilal Kayani said the privatization would improve service delivery and strengthen the airline”s financial position.

Responding to a calling attention notice, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan said interventions have been made to achieve the target of sixty billion dollars in exports. He said improvement and growth are being seen in different sectors including manufacturing. He mentioned that a surge was witnessed in agri exports last year.

Meanwhile, several bills were laid before the house today. These included: The Export Development Fund Amendment Bill, 2026, National Tariff Commission Amendment Bill, 2026, the Export Import Bank of Pakistan Amendment Bill, 2026, Pakistan Telecommunication Reorganization Amendment Bill, Life Insurance Nationalization Amendment Bill, Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Amendment Bill, Islamabad Capital Territory Condominium (Ownership and Management) bill and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Amendment Bill, 2026.

These bills were introduced by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar.

Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar also laid before the National Assembly today Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council Ordinance, 2025 and Transfer of Railways Amendment Ordinance 2025.

The House will now meet on Monday at five pm.
