Nationwide Crackdown Nets Nearly 3,000 Drug Dealers in Sweeping Operation

In a decisive crackdown against drug trafficking, authorities have apprehended over 2,900 drug dealers since September 2023. The government’s sustained efforts have resulted in the registration of 2,951 cases and the arrest of 2,953 individuals involved in drug-related activities.

In the past month alone, 46 drug-related cases were processed, leading to the capture of 57 drug dealers. Law enforcement agencies successfully confiscated 262.07 kg of heroin, 522.91 kg of hashish, 72.82 kg of methamphetamine, 619.6 kg of opium, and 44.49 kg of other narcotics from various regions across the country.

The government’s TV reported that the ongoing operation has seen significant quantities of drugs seized nationwide since September 2023, with authorities recovering 6.66 metric tons of heroin, 77.012 metric tons of hashish, 5.99 metric tons of methamphetamine, 12.02 metric tons of opium, and 986.58 metric tons of other substances.

This substantial haul underscores the effectiveness of the government’s measures in curbing the drug menace. The operation continues to gain momentum as authorities pledge to intensify their efforts in dismantling drug networks.
