New Sea Corridors to Slash Pakistan-Africa Trade Costs by 30 Percent

Pakistan is establishing new maritime corridors anticipated to cut trade costs with Africa by up to thirty percent, aiming to access an East African market of five hundred million consumers, according to the Minister for Maritime Affairs, Junaid Anwar Chaudhry.

According to a report by MOIB today, the minister revealed that Gwadar is being developed as a future key export hub for Africa during a meeting with Rwanda”s High Commissioner, Harerimana Fatou, in the capital,.

Mr. Chaudhry emphasised that the Karachi-Djibouti route, in particular, will lead to a significant reduction in delivery times.

He also pointed out that the Karachi-Mombasa route is expected to further bolster regional integration.

The Rwandan High Commissioner stated that the improved connectivity would boost bilateral trade between the two countries.
