NIA court extends Yasin Malik’s remand till July 7

Srinagar, May 26, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik has been, one again, remanded by Delhi’s National Investigation Agency court for judicial lock-up till 7th July. The JKLF in a statement issued in Srinagar termed it as an act of political vendetta. Muhammad Yasin Malik who is lodged at Tihar Jail from 9th April 2019 produced before NIA court in New Delhi on Friday, which extended his judicial remand till 7th of July.

He was arrested by police on 22nd February 2019. Later on 7th March he was booked under draconian law Public Safety Act and was shifted to Kot-Bhalwal jail, Jammu wherein he was kept in solitary confinement till 8th of April 2019. He was illegally shifted to Delhi on 9th of April by NIA and after being ill-treated at NIA headquarters, he started hunger strike against the callous attitude of NIA. He was secretly shifted to hospital where from he was later shifted to Tihar jail and was kept in a cage like cell in solitary confinement.

JKLF acting chairman Abdul Hameed Butt in a statement said even international community knows that this concocted case is actually a political case which is meant to take revenge from Kashmiris for resisting the onslaught of oppression and for demanding the democratic birth right.
