NP deplores use of force on rally against missing persons’ killings

QUETTA: National Party (NP), while condemning the use of force against a peaceful rally taken out in Quetta against the alleged killing of disappeared persons in a fake encounter in Ziarat, has said that Balochistan was deliberately being pushed towards anarchy and bloodshed, adding that the use of force against the relatives of missing persons was becoming a routine in the province.

A statement issued by the central secretariat of National Party on Thursday said that situation from 2008 to 2013 were being created afresh in Balochistan and the acts of robberies and thefts were increasing in different parts of the province with the passage of time.

It said that life, property and honour of common citizens were not secure. Passenger coaches were being looted on national highway in the area of Advisor to Chief Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs, but no action was being taken against anyone, it said. Expressing grave concern over the increasing acts of enforced disappearances, it said that the previous day two sons and nephew of Haji Jan Muhammad Shahwani, a noted figure of Khud Kucha area of Mastung, disappeared.

NP said that when relatives of disappeared political workers staged a peaceful protest for the recovery of their beloved ones, they were tortured.
