A violent clash between two rival factions of the Kalar community claimed the life of a young man within the jurisdiction of Sultankot Police Station near Shikarpur on Tuesday.
According to a police report, the clash occurred over a long-standing feud between the Deen Muhammad Kalar and Ratto Kalar groups near the Sultankot link road resulting in death of Pahlwan Kalar, aged 30, son of Sikandar Ali Kalar, while another person, Imamdeen Kalar, sustained injuries.
The assailants fled the scene following the incident. The police have identified the motive behind the killing as the ongoing enmity between the two groups. The victim’s body was shifted to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities.
This latest clash brought the death toll from the ongoing feud to 10 lives. No FIR could be registered till filing this report. Tension gripped the area soon after the incident and more bloodshed is feared.
