Pakistan Accuses India of Espionage Plot as Diplomatic Tensions Escalate

Pakistan has leveled serious allegations against India, accusing its intelligence agencies of coercing a Pakistani fisherman into espionage, a plot the government asserts has now been fully exposed. The charge, made by Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, comes amid heightened tensions following the recent Pahalgam incident, for which he claimed India baselessly blamed Pakistan.

Speaking at a seminar on ‘Pakistan’s Diplomatic Achievements’ in Islamabad on Monday, Tarar declared that while Pakistan’s diplomatic successes are gaining global recognition, India persists with its conspiracies against the nation.

The Minister addressed the Pahalgam incident directly, noting that India hastily pointed the finger at Pakistan. In response, he highlighted that the Prime Minister had offered to permit an independent investigation, a move reflecting Pakistan’s commitment to transparency. ‘Our friendly countries have endorsed Pakistan’s stance, and due to our diplomatic efforts, we have received overwhelming support from the international community,’ he added.

Tarar asserted that India has consistently acted with aggression. He revealed, ‘Our Coast Guards arrested a Pakistani fisherman who was coerced into espionage by Indian intelligence agencies – he exposed their entire plot to the world.’

He remarked that Pakistan is currently engaged in a ‘battle of narratives’ in which facts have unmasked India’s falsehoods on the global stage. The minister also lauded the country’s armed forces, stating that under the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan delivered a fitting response to aggression and defeated a much larger adversary.

Shifting focus, the Information Minister emphasized that the nation’s next objective is to reach new economic milestones. He termed the launch of the Economic Strategic Framework during the Prime Minister’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia a significant step forward.

‘Now we must aim for new heights in the economic arena,’ Tarar concluded. He underscored the government’s resolve to boost foreign investment, strengthen ties with Central Asian states, and expand trade through Pakistani ports, thereby deepening economic relations with allied countries.
