Pakistan and Kazakhstan Conclude Elite Counter-Terrorism Drills

In a significant display of bilateral military cooperation, Pakistan and Kazakhstan have concluded a two-week intensive joint counter-terrorism exercise, ‘Dostarym-V,’ aimed at fortifying their combined capabilities against modern security threats. The closing ceremony for the high-stakes maneuvers was held at Cherat on Saturday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced in a statement that the joint training, which commenced on October 14, involved elite combat units from the Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) and the Kazakhstan Special Forces.

The primary focus of the collaborative drills was to enhance tactical coordination between the two armed forces. The maneuvers involved refining counter-terrorism procedures and improving interoperability in complex operational environments.

The culmination of the exercise was witnessed by high-ranking officials. The Commandant of the Special Operations School in Cherat served as the chief guest, with the Ambassador and Defence Attaché of Kazakhstan also in attendance at the ceremony.

During the closing event, the participating contingents demonstrated a high degree of professional competence and operational acumen, showcasing the effectiveness of the shared training program.

According to the military’s media wing, the ‘Dostarym-V’ exercise was designed to bolster existing military-to-military relations and facilitate the exchange of expertise in anti-terrorism operations, underscoring the deep-rooted strategic partnership between the two nations.
