Pakistan and Turkey Pledge Enhanced Military Cooperation


Islamabad, General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu, Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, met with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi today. The meeting focused on deepening bilateral military relations and addressing regional security challenges.



According to Inter Services Public Relations, the discussions included an array of topics aimed at enhancing the level and scope of military engagements between the two nations. General Bayraktaroglu praised the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in their ongoing efforts against terrorism.



The visit began with a ceremonial Guard of Honour presented by a tri-services contingent, honoring the Turkish commander upon his arrival at the headquarters. This gesture underscored the strong military ties and mutual respect between Pakistan and Turkey.
