The highest judicial bodies of Pakistan and China have established a formal partnership to address emerging legal challenges, including artificial intelligence and cybercrime, marking a significant step in bilateral judicial cooperation.
According to a report on Friday, the landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Judicial Exchange and Cooperation was formalized by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Yahya Afridi, and his Chinese counterpart, Justice Zhang Jun, who serves as the Chief Justice and President of the Supreme People’s Court of China.
This new accord is designed to enhance the mutual understanding between the two nations” judicial systems. It aims to create a framework for collaboration on complex legal fields that are becoming increasingly relevant globally.
According to the terms of the agreement, the collaboration will specifically concentrate on sharing expertise and facilitating advancements in areas such as the legal implications of artificial intelligence, the prosecution of cyber-related offenses, and the nuances of international trade law.
