Pakistan today issued a strong condemnation of Israel’s legislative move to extend its so-called ‘sovereignty’ over sections of the Occupied West Bank, denouncing the action as a flagrant breach of international law and a direct assault on the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared that the draft law, which also covers illegal Israeli settlements, is a provocative and unlawful measure that directly contravenes multiple United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Government officials warned that such unilateral actions seriously jeopardize ongoing efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability in the volatile region. The move is seen as a significant setback to diplomatic initiatives aimed at resolving the long-standing conflict.
Islamabad has called upon the international community to take immediate and decisive action to halt these illegitimate steps. The statement urged global powers to hold the Israeli occupying forces accountable for their persistent violations of established international norms and legal frameworks.
Reaffirming its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, Pakistan reiterated its commitment to working with global partners to uphold the rights of the Palestinian people. This includes their fundamental right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif serving as its capital.
