In a significant move towards modernizing Pakistan Railways, a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Railways observed that it has become imperative to promote actively the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to revamp the railways into a commercially viable and operationally efficient entity.

The meeting focused on implementing the “Strategic Roadmap for the Modernization of Pakistan Railways. Federal Minister for Railways, Mr. Hanif Abbasi, presided over the meeting in which it was highlighted that private sector involvement will be encouraged to enable investment, foster commercial development, and improve infrastructure within the railways.

A comprehensive plan, as instructed by the Prime Minister, was reviewed to upgrade railway stations across the country to modern standards. The aim is to provide passengers with world-class travel facilities, transforming stations into commercial hubs and enhancing cleanliness, security, technology, and services.

Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi expressed that the revival of Pakistan Railways is crucial for bolstering the national economy. He stressed the importance of ensuring all projects align with public interest, transparency, and the Prime Minister”s vision. This strategic roadmap sets the path for transforming Pakistan Railways into both a modern entity and a valuable national asset.
