Pakistan Secures Saudi Backing for Alternative Red Sea Oil Route

Pakistan has received assurances of complete support from Saudi Arabia in establishing an alternative crude oil supply route through the Yanbu port, a significant development aimed at ensuring the stability of the nation’s energy supply chain.

The commitment was confirmed during a meeting in the capital between Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik and Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, according to a report by MOIB today.

Minister Malik conveyed his hope that Pakistan would be given precedence in the oil provision from the Red Sea facility, noting that a Pakistani vessel is slated to be sent to Yanbu to procure crude oil.

He confirmed that Saudi sources have guaranteed the security of supply through the strategic port.

Mr Malik expressed gratitude for the Kingdom”s support and emphasised that the government is making efforts to maintain the continuity of energy resources for the populace.

The Saudi Ambassador affirmed that comprehensive cooperation with Pakistan will persist, particularly in case of any emergency requirements.

Ambassador Al-Maliki reiterated the strong bilateral ties, stating that the two nations will stand by each other during challenging times.
