Pakistan to showcase mining sector to attract Swedish investors

Pakistan is preparing to significantly expand its mining activities and will present new investment opportunities at a major forum in 2026, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik announced today during a meeting with the Swedish Ambassador.

The minister’s discussion with the Ambassador of Sweden to Pakistan, Alexandra Berg von Linde, in the capital centred on enhancing ongoing bilateral cooperation and exploring fresh avenues for partnership, particularly in the energy and mining sectors.

Ambassador Berg von Linde highlighted the considerable Swedish commercial footprint in the country, stating that more than 40 companies are currently members of the Swedish Business Council in Pakistan.

Ali Pervaiz Malik appreciated the continued Swedish investment and commercial presence, affirming the government”s commitment to collaborating with international partners to develop the nation”s natural resource sector.

The minister confirmed that the forthcoming Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2026 would serve as a platform to exhibit these opportunities in the expanding industry and its allied fields.

Both dignitaries reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening Pakistan-Sweden cooperation, agreeing to continue their engagement to promote investment, technological exchange, and sustainable development in these key areas.
