Pakistan’s entire civil and military leadership on Thursday issued a unified message on the birth anniversary of the nation’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, renewing their collective commitment to uphold his vision for a progressive, just, and secure state.
In separate messages commemorating the occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif described the day as a reminder of the conviction and strenuous effort that shaped Pakistan.
They emphasised that the Quaid’s core principles of democracy, justice, and equality remain central to the national journey and are essential for the country”s advancement, social cohesion, and public confidence. Both leaders urged all Pakistanis, particularly the youth, to hold firm to Jinnah”s ideals and to contribute towards building a peaceful, inclusive, and forward-looking Pakistan.
Echoing these sentiments, the nation’s top military commanders paid rich tribute to the Father of the Nation. Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir; Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, delivered a message on behalf of the armed forces.
The military leadership reiterated their resolve to safeguard the country”s sovereignty and territorial integrity. They also affirmed their dedication to contributing wholeheartedly towards national stability, peace, and development, in alignment with the ideals and aspirations of Quaid-e-Azam.
In a separate gesture, the Armed Forces extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to the Christian community of Pakistan, acknowledging their valuable contributions to the nation’s progress.
