More than 200,000 Pakistanis have registered for the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage within the first 11 days of the registration drive, with the majority using the government’s online portal, reflecting the growing shift toward digital public services, the Ministry of Religious Affairs said.
The ministry said nearly 180,000 intending pilgrims completed their applications through the official web portal, while around 24,000 registered via the dedicated mobile application, indicating increased public confidence in digital registration platforms, according to an official report today.
Official statistics showed that more than 154,000 applicants selected the government Hajj scheme, while about 49,000 opted for the private scheme.
Punjab accounted for the largest share of registrations, with approximately 95,000 applicants, followed by Sindh with around 63,000. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded nearly 28,000 registrations, while Islamabad contributed about 9,000 applicants.
Balochistan registered around 5,500 applicants, while Azad Jammu and Kashmir accounted for nearly 1,200 registrations. Gilgit-Baltistan recorded approximately 600 applicants, according to the ministry.
The ministry’s data also showed that about 119,000 men and 84,500 women had completed the registration process.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs said the digital registration system had been introduced to simplify and accelerate the application process for intending pilgrims. It urged applicants to complete their registration through the official online portal or mobile application before the deadline to avoid any last-minute difficulties.
The ministry said registration numbers were expected to rise further in the coming days as more prospective pilgrims completed the process ahead of the next Hajj season.
