Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has declared that providing assistance to farmers is a paramount national concern, affirming that agriculture constitutes the foundation of Pakistan”s economy.
The statement was made during a meeting with Tahir Yaqoob Bhatti, the President of Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL), at Parliament House today.
Mr Gilani gave an assurance that the Parliament will persist in offering its complete backing for policies favourable to farmers and for the overall advancement of the agricultural sector.
During the discussion, the ZTBL President updated the Senate Chairman on the bank’s initiatives, detailing its loan schemes for agriculturalists and landowners. These included financial facilities provided on accessible terms and a range of aid packages designed to boost agricultural output.
