Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that under the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s Engineering Department, patchwork had begun on the Hub River Road from Shershah to the Northern Bypass to facilitate citizens using this critical route.

According to a KMC statement today, the mayor shared this while reviewing the patchwork and surfacing activities on Hub River Road and other roads in District West. Approximately 180,000 feet of surfacing will be carried out on both tracks of Hub River Road, and damaged areas will be filled and made motorable, he said.

In addition to Hub the River Road, KMC is also conducting patchwork on Orangi Road, Gaddafi Road, and Madinat-ul-Hikmat Road, the mayor said. Meanwhile, patchwork on the Bab-e-Khyber Road near Metropole had been completed, he added.

He highlighted that traffic passing through Hub River Road from Shershah to the Northern Bypass faced significant challenges, so efforts were being made to complete this project promptly.

He directed engineering department officials to immediately address any obstacles in road repair and adopt effective strategies to ensure the benefits of these efforts reach Karachi’s residents, ultimately improving the city’s road network.
